The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the Netherlands announced today that only necessary trips to Suriname are allowed. Travelers must obtain permission for this from the Surinamese authorities. For this, they can contact the Surinamese Consulate General in Amsterdam.

This all has to do with strict measures that Suriname has instituted for travelers from the Netherlands. At check-in, travelers must also provide a negative PCR test no older than 48 hours. On arrival in Suriname, all travelers from the Netherlands are obliged to quarantine for 10 days at their own expense in a hotel designated by the government.

After a stay in Suriname, travelers must be in home quarantine for 10 days when they return to the Netherlands.

Due to these measures, the flight schedule of the airlines has been adjusted again. From 12 October, a repatriation flight from the Netherlands will only be admitted to Suriname once a week. The SLM and KLM will then each have the opportunity to operate a flight every one week.
