only a 7 for the CD Projekt game

The new edition of the noto magazine EDGE includes the ranking of games reviewed by the British editors that hit the market this Christmas. Within the list Cyberpunk 2077 also appears, CD Projetk RED’s controversial first-person RPG.

Among the titles analyzed by EDGE managers we also find Immortal Fenyx Rising, Ubisoft’s new open world inspired by The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, e Hyrule Warriors Age of Calamity, the musou released in November exclusively on Nintendo Switch. Below is the complete list of games reviewed:

EDGE Reviews

  • Cyberpunk 2077 – 7
  • Call of the Sea – 6
  • Immortals Fenyx Rising – 6
  • Hyrule Warriors Age of Calamity – 7
  • 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim – 7
  • Empire of Sin – 5
  • Haven – 4
  • Alba: A Wildlife Adventure – 7
  • Horace – 8
  • Tenderfoot Tactics – 8
  • Wide Ocean Big Jacket – 8

As you can see, with the exception of Tenderfoot Tactics and Wide Ocean Big Jacket, none of the titles listed above particularly thrilled EDGE, which did not let itself be captivated even by the fascinating coils of the streets of Night City. Cyberpunk 2077, in fact, you have to be content with a modest 7, an assessment that, however positive, does not go hand in hand with the ambitions and expectations that the Sci-Fi RPG has created around itself in all these years. The same Immortal Fenyx Rising, judged with the sufficiency, did not hit the mark, while Hyrule Warriors Age of Calamity won a vote of 7.
Speaking of Cyberpunk, the developers have confirmed that there will be no referrals regarding the free DLCs, again in anticipation for the first months of 2021. A mod for PC, meanwhile, has improved the behavior of the game’s NPCs by making them more responsive and aware of their surroundings.
