Hermannstadt – The eight young people from Romania, who were involved as performing guests at the International Theater Festival Hermannstadt/Sibiu (FITS) in August 2021 for the “People Power Partnership” project of the action theater PAN.OPTIKUM from Freiburg im Breisgau (FITS), which will run until 2024, are Sunday , returned to their hometowns on July 24 after a three-week rehearsal period in Freiburg, the Radu Stanca Theater Sibiu (TNRS) reported Tuesday, July 26. The departure to the southernmost city in Germany to develop and practice the central and final staging of the project mentioned was undertaken on the last day of FITS 2022. By the beginning of September 2022, a total of 104 young people from Latvia, Lithuania, Croatia, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Denmark, Poland, Sweden, Norway, England, Romania as well as from the Czech Republic and Slovakia will experience the same trip in groups and one after the other for three weeks and under the direction of the project team from the action theater PAN.OPTIKUM on the site of the former freight station in Freiburg and in the Freiburg locomotive hall, which was converted for cultural purposes in 2011, brought themselves into top choreographic form in good time for the large-scale production of “People Power Partnership”. Their premiere is to take place on September 9th and 10th on the square of the Old Synagogue in Freiburg and in the years 2023 to 2024 they will travel in turn to the twelve European project partner cities, including Lisbon, Riga and Vilnius. Participants in the first rehearsal phase in Freiburg im Breisgau from July 3 to 24, 2022 were also the young players from Venaria (Italy), Vilnius and Prague. The last rehearsals on the first days of September before the premiere in Freiburg will take place there in full cast with all 104 actors in stage-ready costumes in front of the ready-to-use stage set including lighting technology and the sound backdrop. Viewers of the FITS in August 2021, who still fondly remember the presentation of the “People Power Partnership” project in the Neppendorf/Turnișor district in the evening, can look forward to the final visit to what is sure to be an impressive production of the PAN.OPTIKUM action theater in or near Sibiu in the festival summer of 2023 or 2024.
