OnePlus Nord 2 Powered by Dimensity 1200-AI, here’s the AI ​​Benchmark Score

It has been officially confirmed that the OnePlus Nord 2 will be powered by a MediaTek chipset. The chipset is the Dimensity 1200-AI, a custom version of the Dimensity 1200 made by MediaTek and OnePlus, thanks to the Dimensity Open Resource Architecture initiative.

Now, the OnePlus Nord 2 has appeared on the benchmark site, AI Benchmark, showing us how well it performs against other devices. This also gives us the opportunity to compare the Dimensity 1200-AI’s score with the regular Dimensity 1200.

The OnePlus Nord 2 variant that is benchmarked on the platform has 8GB RAM and runs Android 11. The benchmark site also confirmed that the Nord 2 is indeed powered by MediaTek Dimensity 1200-AI and has an AI score of 172.7K (172666) points.

When compared to the realme GT Neo which has a standard Dimensity 1200 chipset and a score of 155.8K (155803), there is a significant improvement. However, the Dimensity 1200-AI score still lags behind other devices on the list such as the Snapdragon 888-powered LG V70, which has an AI score of 203.1K,

The OnePlus Nord 2 with Dimensity 1200-AI also lags behind in performance with the Huawei Mate 40 Pro+ equipped with the Kirin 9000 chipset with an AI score of 215.4K, and the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra powered by the Exynos 2100 with an AI score of 202.1K.

Since AI is the focus here, benchmark results do show that the OnePlus Nord 2 has a more powerful AI chipset than the Realme GT Neo. OnePlus promises that users of this smartphone will see AI improvements in the camera (photo and video) performance as well as the display department.

For your information, the Dimensity 1200-AI is the first chipset to use the Dimensity Open Resource Architecture initiative from Dimensity 1200. Of course we can’t wait for the presence of the smartphone which will reportedly be launched in India on July 22, 2021.
