OnePlus has confirmed that the OnePlus 8T will get a screen with a refresh rate of 120Hz. It is a 6.55 “OLED screen with a peak brightness of 1100cd / m², just like the OnePlus 8. However, the screen of the 8T is less curved at the edges.
OnePlus CEO Pete Lau has in one interview met TechRadar indicated that the 8T smartphone will have a 120Hz screen with a diagonal of 6.55 “. The use of a flexible 2.5d glass panel, which has a slight bend at the ends, would increase the ability to transmit light. They have been improved over regular screens or curved screens, which, according to Lau, allows a maximum brightness of 1100cd / m². The OnePlus 8 also has a peak brightness of 1100cd / m², but that model uses a screen with strongly curved edges.
Furthermore, the new phone will get a claimed screen-to-body ratio of 91.9 percent. That is slightly higher than the already released OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro, which in terms of these ratios, according to figures from OnePlus, are respectively at 88.7 and 90.8 percent. The screen edges will therefore be slightly thinner with the OnePlus 8T. With the OnePlus Nord, this ratio is 86.7 percent. Lau also claims in the interview that the screen has ‘the highest color fidelity in the industry’.
The manufacturer will issue the Presenting OnePlus 8T on October 14. Previously, OnLeaks appeared via smartphone insider renders and specifications of the OnePlus 8T. The new device will probably get a better macro camera, with a higher resolution and a depth sensor. With the OnePlus 8 it was omitted. The battery could fast charge with 65W, more than twice as fast as with the OnePlus 8.
A number of details are still unknown, such as the prices. The website 91mobiles noted a page from the German Amazon site which stated that the 8T variant with 12GB of ram and 256GB of storage will cost 693 euros. That would according to Ishan Agarwal 699 euros in other European countries. The variant with 8GB and 128GB should then cost 599 euros. Agarwal has often published accurate information about unannounced products in recent years. However, he also notes that it could be incorrect information from Amazon, since the OnePlus 8 currently costs 649 euros and it is unlikely that the new model will be cheaper.
