It was a great promise that Barack Obama made right at the start of his term in office. In the midst of the financial crisis, the then president not only wanted to revive the American economy, but also the country’s infrastructure. $ 10 billion alone should flow into new rails, networks and trains. “There is no reason why the Europeans or the Chinese should have the fastest trains when we can build them right here in America,” Obama said at the time.
