Construction works on the Daugavpils highway (A6) will start in the section from the traffic junction at the intersection with the Riga bypass A5 (Salaspils – Babīte) to Ikšķile (km 17,328-28,000).
There is a speed limit of 70 km / h in the construction area. Starting from Friday, July 31, one of the two lanes will be closed alternately for traffic on the section of the carriageway in the direction of Riga from Ikšķile to the approaches to the two-level intersection with the Riga bypass A4 (Baltezers-Saulkalne). It is planned that both lanes of the carriageway will be open to traffic at night.
The works include leveling milling and laying a new asphalt surface.
Construction works on the Daugavpils highway are performed by JSC A.C.B. for a contract price of 1.93 million euros (including VAT), which is covered from the state budget within the framework of an additional 75 million euros of the program. The works have 80 calendar days under the contract and must be completed in October.
