Omroep Flevoland – News – Three employees of Flevo Hospital infected

Three employees of the Flevo Hospital in Almere are infected with the corona virus. This is reported by spokesman Peter Pels. They are in home isolation. Patients and employees who have been in contact with these employees have been informed of this.

There are now two patients in hospital who have been diagnosed with the coronavirus. They are nursed in strict isolation.

As of today, the hospital is halving the number of operations to create space for the expected increasing demand for intensive medical care for corona patients. The measure applies to all hospitals in North Holland and Flevoland. It concerns ‘planable’ surgical care, but acute operations are still performed.

Not all patients whose surgery is postponed had already been called Monday morning, Pels says. That will happen in the course of today. He does not ask people to call the hospital themselves, because otherwise the pressure on the administration will become too high. Furthermore, all outpatient visits are converted into telephone appointments and consultations.

The outpatient clinics remain open for emergency and semi-emergency appointments. The hospital is only accessible to the main entrance and the entrance to the Emergency and General Practitioner Post. Patients, visitors and escorts should not come to the hospital if they suffer from a cold, cough, sore throat and / or fever.
