It happened on August 22
In 2008. After having fought courageously against a long illness, Robert Pintenat died near Bayonne. The former ASNL international striker (3 selections for the Blues) had just turned 60.
Nicknamed “Golden Head” because of the quality of his game … head, Robert Pintenat had distinguished himself by slamming 10 goals (in 33 matches) during his only season in Nancy. In 1978-79. Passed by Rouen, the Red Star, Nîmes or even Avignon at the very end of his career, the latter had above all marked the spirits before … and after his adventures in Lorraine: under the Sochalian jersey (1974-78; 73 goals) then under the Toulouse colors (1979-83).
Particularly prolific during his “pink” years, and to be honest, a great architect of the club’s rise to the first division (in 1982), Robert Pintenat remains, to this day, the top scorer in the history of Toulouse FC ( 83 goals). Reconverted as a trainer, he had also exercised his talents on the bench of Saint-Dié (1994-95).
