Libreville, Thursday, June 8, 2023 (Infos Gabon) – President Ali Bongo Ondimba bowed to the memory of his illustrious predecessor and progenitor on the occasion of the 14e anniversary of his death.
In a post published this Thursday on the web, the President of the Republic pays a vibrant tribute to President Omar Bongo Ondimba, who died on June 8, 2009 in Spain. “There are great men who forever mark the history of their country. The traces they leave are indelible. They show us the path to follow. It has been 14 years since the late President Omar Bongo Ondimba left us on June 8, 2009. His memory is still vivid in our memories. But he is even more so in our hearts. Rest in peace, Dad,” writes Ali Bongo Ondimba.
Omar Bongo Ondimba, who died at the age of 74, had been in charge of Gabon since 1967. Founder of the Gabonese Democratic Party (PDG), he succeeded Léon Mba, of whom he was vice-president.
