Ammon – Omani Harees is a delicious and nutritious meal from the Omani cuisine. Here is how to prepare Omani Harees:

– 2 kilos of wheat.
– 2 kilos of boneless meat.
– Two teaspoons of black pepper.
– Two tablespoons of salt.
– A cup of ghee.
– Two teaspoons of black pepper.

How to prepare:
1. Before starting to prepare the mash, soak the wheat for several hours in cold water until it is soft.

2. Clean the meat, wash it well, then cut it into medium-sized pieces.

3. In a large pot, place the soaked wheat and meat and fill the pot with water. Then add two tablespoons of salt and two teaspoons of black pepper.

4. Leave the pot on high heat until the water begins to boil, then reduce the heat and cover the pot.

5. Allow the mash to cook for 3 to 4 hours, or until the meat and wheat are soft and fall apart easily.

6. Remove the mash from the heat and let it cool slightly.

7. Place the puree in a food mill or use a hand blender and blend until you have a smooth and homogeneous mixture.

8. In a large frying pan, melt the ghee over low heat, then add the mixed mash and stir well.

9. Continue stirring and stirring over low heat for 15 to 20 minutes until the mash turns golden in color and a pleasant aroma appears.

10. Serve the Omani Harees hot. It can be decorated with a little ghee when serving.
