Anxious to maintain its heritage, Dijon metropolis will make important work at the Olympic Swimming Pool from July 3 to September 3, 2023. They aim to maintain the equipment at a high level of energy performance.

The UCPA association group will also carry out maintenance work necessary for the comfort of users.

The Olympic Pool owill open its doors again on Monday, September 4 at the usual times.

The planned works

The swimming pool will be closed for two months for the realization of many works :

  • the renovation of water treatment, air treatment, ozone production and filtration in order to improve energy efficiency (water and electricity savings);
  • the renovation of green roofs to guarantee a high level of thermal insulation;
  • treatment of exterior wood cladding;
  • the renovation of the reception area;
  • changing the saunas and the hammam generator;
  • the painting and maintenance of the movable wall of the 50-meter pool as well as the complete replacement of the liner at the bottom of the pool;
  • tiling works in different areas.

Moreover, summer is the period when the Olympic Pool is less crowded.

The stakes on learning to swim are also lower insofar as school swimming is not impacted during the chosen period.

The metropolis of Dijon has many supervised bathing areas to accommodate all audiences, and a two-month winter closure would therefore have a greater impact on users.

Extended hours at the Carrousel swimming pool

Moreover, the Piscine du Carrousel adapts its opening hours by adding 3 mornings.

The 50-meter outdoor pool will welcome the swimming public on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m.

The hourly amplitude will be increased to 85 hours per week from July 3 to satisfy the different users (from the sports swimmer to the family who wishes to take advantage of the different pools and play areas).

All subscriptions and 12-entry cards are therefore valid at the Piscine du Carrousel.

The UCPA recalls that since January 1, 2023, the products of the Piscine Olympique and the Piscine du Carrousel will be pooled.
