Olya Polyakova: A Mesmerizing Interpretation of Ukrainian Folk Songs and Cultural Showcase

The artist beautifully interpreted Ukrainian folk songs.

Olya Polyakova performed a one-woman show “My Root” in the chamber hall TEATROOM of the Palace “Ukraine”. The concert took place as part of the “My Ukraine” project – a series of musical performances dedicated to the historical and cultural heritage of our country.

Polyakova sensually performed Ukrainian folk songs, interpreted them in a unique way, among them: “Oh, in the cherry orchard”, “Why didn’t you come”, “The pine was burning, it was burning”, “Oh, there are two oaks on the mountain”, “Oh, in the grove by the Danube “, “Grey cat”, “Oh, under the cherry tree, under the cherry tree” and others.

And the musicians talentedly added elements of jazz, funk and blues to all the recognizable melodies.

In addition, the artist introduced the audience to Ukrainian rituals and customs.

On stage, Olya demonstrated several delicate images that really suit her.

She appeared in a light white cotton dress with a pleated corset top and openwork sleeves that had ruffles, slits and were decorated with a lace border.

Then the star complemented her outfit with a long light beige plakha with a dark belt with beautiful floral cutwork embroidery.

The star also appeared in a wide white floor-length shirtdress.

Polyakova also charmed everyone with her luxurious look in a white dress with puffy sleeves, decorated with floral appliqués, beads and sequins. The belt perfectly emphasized the singer’s thin waist.

The perfect complement to her looks were accessories: flower crowns, a lace veil and a necklace with crosses.

Olya had beautiful, delicate makeup and a hairstyle with curls.
