Ollongren may be present in debate about reconnaissance after negative corona test | NOW

Former scout Kajsa Ollongren (D66) can be present on Wednesday at the debate in the Lower House about the failed initial reconnaissance. She tested negative for the corona virus on Wednesday, her political assistant reports.

The question was whether Ollongren could be present at the debate on Wednesday, after she had tested positive for the virus last Thursday. When she left the House of Representatives on Thursday, the notes she carried under her arm were recorded by a photographer from a news agency ANP.

The notes mentioned, among other things, the negotiating style of CDA leader Wopke Hoekstra and a “position elsewhere” for the critical CDA MP Pieter Omtzigt. Ollongren and Annemarie Jorritsma (VVD) resigned their duties after the note was leaked.

Both former scouts have now offered their “deeply felt apologies”, but the parties still have many questions. Wednesday afternoon’s debate should provide clarification. It is the first debate of the new House of Representatives.

“I am happy that my health allows me to go to The Hague today and that I can answer the questions that are in the House of Representatives about what exactly happened last week”, says Ollongren.

The MPs want to know, among other things, how the comment about Omtzigt ended up in the memorandum. The House may also decide to define the role of the scouts more clearly.
