José Manuel Olivares, presidential commissioner for the Emergency in Health and Sanitary Attention, thanked the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights for its concern about the serious danger that health personnel in Venezuela run, since they do not have the equipment and prevention supplies to face the covid-19.

“We thank the IACHR for its concern regarding health personnel in Venezuela,” said the interim government representative via Twitter.

Olivares warned: “In the last 72 hours, 6 more people in the health sector have died from covid-19, which shows the magnitude of the crisis we are going through.”

In addition, he denounced that “the dictatorship has not even recognized the majority of these deaths of health personnel.”

“For our part, we will continue to raise complaints in all the necessary instances in order to protect all those who work to save the lives of Venezuelans,” he said.
