entertainment">That the track is again in the spotlight has to do with the corona virus, according to music site NME. After the World Health Organization announced that the virus had caused a global pandemic, the song suddenly got a lot of streaming.

entertainment">In It’s the End of the World as We Know It (And I Feel Fine) sings singer Michael Stipe on all sorts of things that concern him, such as earthquakes and hurricanes. He is also concerned about overpopulation and the depletion of natural resources. A few months before the song was released, it was announced that there were 5 billion people in the world. Meanwhile, the world population consists of 7.8 billion people.

entertainment">BRAKE. broke with the album Document, upon which It’s the End of the World as We Know It (And I Feel Fine) state, worldwide. Other well-known hits from the band are Losing My Religion, Everybody Hurts and Shiny Happy People. The band broke up in 2011.
