OJK is currently preparing a special board for gocap shares

KONTAN.CO.ID – JAKARTA. The Financial Services Authority (OJK) will separate transactions for shares at a price of IDR 50 per share, aka gocap shares. This is a form of protection for retail investors.

Chief Executive of OJK Capital Market Supervision, Hoesen, explained that his party is currently discussing a mechanism that can accommodate a market mechanism that can accommodate until there is no longer a price limit of IDR 50 per share. “What are the mechanisms we are preparing, perhaps by developing our own trading board,” said Hoesen, Thursday (5/11).

Gocap shares are still transactable. However, not in the regular market but in the negotiation market. Therefore, there needs to be other preparations before separating the gocap stock trading board from shares above this price level. One of them, by finding the right scheme to bring together buy and sell orders.

Like the regular market which has a price fraction, “We will also differentiate the stock price fraction at this level,” added Hoesen.

Previously, the Development Director of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) Hasan Fawzi said the stock exchange was preparing a special board infrastructure to monitor gocap shares.

If it goes well, the initial stage of the special monitoring board will be implemented next year. “The end of the first semester or the beginning of the second semester,” said Hasan.

Hoesen added that the discourse emerged after many investors complained about the price of the company’s shares being purchased in the gocap stock zone.

Even so, according to Hoesen, gocap shares are not an indicator of less than optimal screening of potential issuers. “The condition five years ago is different from now, as well as the next five years. In its journey, the company could be better, or even worse,” explained Hoesen.
