Over the past four years at Ajax, Erik has proven to be one of the most exciting and successful coaches in Europe, known for his attractive, offensive soccer ball and commitment to youth, said John Murtough, Manchester United’s director of football.
The new manager wants Manchester United to be a high-class team again. “In our discussions with Erik, we were deeply impressed by his long-term vision to bring Manchester United back to the level we want to compete at, and his willingness and determination to do just that,” added John Murtough.
The trainer himself did not hide his joy at the new job.

The coach will be leading Ajax by the end of this season, with whom he has a chance to win league Dutch.
“It will be hard to leave Ajax after these amazing years and I can assure our fans of my total commitment and focus on successfully ending this season before moving to Manchester United,” added the Hag.
“Four and a half years is a good amount of time, but we’d like to keep Erik in Ajax longer. He’s a fantastic coach. We owe Erik a lot of thanks for what he has achieved with Ajax so far, but we’re not finished yet. For now, the season finale is important, because we want to win the title of the Dutch champion – said Edwin van der Sar, Ajax director.
Manchester United has 54 points after 33 matches and is only sixth in the Premier League table. His chances of being promoted to fourth place in the Champions League are slim. To two teams from London: Tottenham and Arsenal, they are losing three points, but also has one game played more.
