Coach remains in the blues and whites for three more seasons
The impasse is broken: Sérgio Conceição will continue in charge of FC Porto’s coach. As announced recently by Porto Canal, the renovation is closed and will be made official this Saturday morning. The 46-year-old coach will sign a contract for another three seasons.
Sérgio Conceição has been with FC Porto since 2016/17, when he left the French side of Nantes to return to lead a team in Portugal, after stints at Olhanense (2011/12), Académica (2012/13 and 2013/14), Sp. Braga (2014/15) and Vitória de Guimarães (2015/16). At the end of this season, the impasse in the renewal process between the coach and FC Porto has alerted some European clubs, with a special focus on Italy, the country where the now coach spent during his career as a player (Lazio, between 1996/96, 1997/98 and 2002/03; Parma, in 2000/01; and Inter Milan, in 2001/02 and 2002/03.
