The mayor of Offenbach, Dr. On Tuesday, Felix Schwenke and the head of the education department, Paul-Gerhard Weiß, handed over a check for 466 euros to the president of the Offenbach food bank, Christiane Sparr. The amount came from the action days organized at the weekly market by the city’s economic and real estate development with the Offenbach adult education center. “You make a valuable contribution to our society,” said Mayor Dr. Felix Schwenke Christiane Sparr. “I am all the more pleased to be able to present you the proceeds of the campaign days today. The Tafel Offenbach can use every euro. Especially in times like these, when energy costs are high and food prices are constantly rising, the Tafel needs support.”

Three times on the weekly market days which took place on Tuesday, Friday and Saturday, there was an invitation to the weekly market. One of the campaigns was the “bowl of the month”. With a donation of five euros, a bag prepackaged with seasonal ingredients from the weekly market could be purchased for the preparation of a bowl (in German “bowl”). The initial VHS design created a two-person recipe to match ingredients, which was easy to cook at home. Economic development has subsidized the surplus value. A total of 466 euros were collected from the proceeds.

The adult education center has taken the theme of “world changers” into the current program as an opportunity to offer sustainable campaigns. “The offers were very well received by the visitors. We are delighted with the great success and would like to repeat the campaign next year,” sums up Head of Training Paul-Gerhard Weiß.
