The municipal institutions Haus der Stadtgeschichte and Klingspor Museum in Offenbach will be offering free admission from Tuesday. The German Leather Museum opens a week later.
The Offenbacher Haus der Stadtgeschichte and the Klingspor Museum will reopen to the public on Tuesday, May 12th. Admission to the two municipal museums is free during the first week. Guided tours are prohibited by the State of Hesse, but the city says that explanations for individual presentations can be offered. The German Leather Museum opens a week later on May 19.
The team in the Haus der Stadtgeschichte has used the forced closing time since March to renovate the interior, paint the walls and rearrange the showcases. New objects were set up in the forecourt of the Klingspor Museum: “Buchkunst-to-go” is the name of the campaign.
The Klingspor Museum had to cancel its new special exhibition of art and books on Friedrich Hölderlin on the occasion of his 250th birthday because of the corona pandemic. Now the exhibition can be visited. However, with restrictions: A maximum of twenty people can enter the two museums at the same time – and entry is only permitted with a nose and throat covering.
The Haus der Stadtgeschichte is also postponing its exhibition planned for May with works by the artist Philipp Hennevogl into the coming year.
