Offenbach is still topping up with “floor tattoos”

Are the notices posted by the city about the mask requirement in different zones sufficient? Readers say no, they see a lot of catching up to do.

Offenbach – Michael John thinks the small letter signs attached to masts at a height of about three meters are too inconspicuous: “I think nobody takes note of this notice. Why aren’t the very well-designed signs, which are also clearly visible in Frankfurt, used? ”In the neighboring city, DIN-A-2 boards also indicate in English where to cover your mouth and nose.

Kay Wendelmuth complains that there is no indication of the mask requirement at the S-Bahn station Marktplatz. Only at the entrance to the pedestrian zone were two modest A-2 posters. For the further course of the designated area, he states that there is no evidence. “Sorry, but if all of the measures are to be successful, then it must be ensured that the specifications are adhered to,” the Offenbacher also calls for monitoring and sanctions.

The city does not want to share criticism and concerns. Kerstin Holzheimer from the press office explains a question from our newspaper: “On behalf of the administrative staff, the city service provider ESO had posters in the design of the entire Corona campaign produced and hung up in the appropriate places.” That happened last Monday, i.e. when the Mask compulsory even in the open air. For the city, this is an indication that the signs are being noticed: “We also saw a lot of photos on social media.” In parallel to the signs, this aspect of the tightening of corona rules was communicated on radio, television, newspapers and social networks. However, Kerstin Holzheimer announces that there will be additional markings on the ground: “We are currently preparing floor tattoos with the same message.”

The city spokeswoman also points out that a rule prescribed and valid by the state of Hesse already applied: a mask wherever distances cannot be maintained. The designation of zones now serves to indicate areas in which there is a lack of distance. “By law, ignorance does not protect against punishment”, Kerstin Holzheimer points out that no one can talk his way out of it, he has not registered the corresponding signs.

It is compulsory to wear a mask from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. in the city center between Berliner, Luisen-, Herrn-, Main- Karl- and Bismarckstraße, on Hafenplatz and harbor stairs, in Bieber’s Aschaffenburger and Seligenstädter Straße as well as in Bürgels Langstraße and Offenbacher Straße.
