Off-road duel Dacia Duster 1.5 dCi – Audi RSQ8 V8 bi-turbo. Who won? (with video)

One of the strangest and most unequal comparative tests between two SUVs brought face to face a Dacia Duster 1.5 dCi and an Audi RSQ8.

The British from Carwow put the two 4 × 4 vehicles to work off-road to find out how the capable Romanian model handles in front of one of the most expensive SUVs on the market.

While Dacia Duster hides under the hood the classic 115 hp diesel engine and 260 Nm of torque, the German car is equipped with a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 with mild-hybrid technology at 48V, which develops a maximum power of 600 hp and 800 Nm of couple.

The transmission of these resources to all four wheels is done through a six-speed manual transmission, while the German model has an eight-speed automatic transmission, while the all-wheel drive system is the well-known and high-performance Quattro.

The Mioveni model has a catalog price in the UK of 20,000 pounds (about 24,000 euros), while Audi RSQ8 it costs 107,000 pounds (about 128,000 euros), which is about eight times more.

The two SUVs were subjected to several tests, namely starting from the spot on the ramp, traversing a muddy, uneven and winding route, crossings of areas extremely demanding for their suspensions.

As expected, the Stuttgart car did better than Duster in some races. Instead, the local SUV proved to be much more adept in other tests, proving that the price difference of about 100,000 euros is not seen in the field.
