OCTOPUS Crime Drama Premiere Episode Tops Czech TV Ratings with Over 1 Million Viewers

The premiere episode of the crime drama octopus watched on Monday evening on Czech TV according to Mediaguru 1,214,000 viewers. Close on her heels were criminals from an acquaintance Criminal Angel, which aired new episodes from the fifth series. It watched you in prime time 1,049,000 viewers.

In the very first episode, the detectives Miroslav Krobot with a young colleague Marika Šoposka years later, they reopen the case of the loan shark Karel Beránek and at the same time the case of the robbed post office. The protagonists managed to connect the two cases, but mainly to convict the murderer just before the statute of limitations.

Viewers are excited so far. “Cool. I liked it. Very good. I look forward to the next parts,” commented people en masse who sat down in front of the television screens on Monday. Some found small faults in the series, others noticed similarities with Nordic crime novels.

But only a few fans did not like their favorite actor in the new series Kryštof Hádek. „Although Kryštof Hádek is a great actor, he doesn’t really fit this role,” one viewer wrote. “Mr. Hádek is not very suitable for the position of boss,” another viewer commented.

Critics aren’t entirely thrilled either. “It became predictable, that is, that a miraculous coincidence would help to solve the case, which – again miraculously, although in a negative sense – no one had noticed before. But it’s not a flop, and there are more significant positives, such as the visuals and the actors. A promising three stars for now,” rated the series by a certain ČSFD user, where the crime drama has so far won 58%.
