‘Obliterated’: ‘Cobra Kai’ creators reunite for new series on Netflix

Cobra Kai creators Jon Hurwitz, Hayden Schlossberg and Josh Heald are teaming up again to develop another series for Netflix, officially only now in the comedy realm. “Obliterated,” as it was once titled, will be kind of a funnier version of “The Expendables,” as reported by the Collider.

The eight-episode series will tell the story of a special forces team who, after drinking it all at a party in Las Vegas, are called back to work – dealing with bombs and the like. Filming is expected to begin in the first half of this year, however, the cast has yet to be announced and none have a streaming window.

Hurwitz, Schlossberg and Heald are not new to the comedy genre. For those who haven’t watched it, “Cobra Kai” also has its dose of humor despite the martial arts background. Additionally, Hurwitz and Schlossberg also wrote and directed “Fresh Dawn” (2004) and “American Pie” (2012). They are also set to serve as writers and directors for the upcoming “American Pie 5” franchise. Heald, meanwhile, carries the feature film “A Ressaca” (2010), well known among the productions of the genre, as a screenwriter.

“Obliterated” already has an official synopsis, check it out below!

“Obliterated” is a high-octane action-comedy that tells the story of an elite Special Forces team that thwarts a deadly threat to Las Vegas. After the celebratory party, filled with booze, drugs, and sex, the team discovers that the bomb they defused was a fake. The now drunk team must fight their shortcomings, overcome their personal issues, find the real bomb and save the world.
