NY Attorney General Releases Transcripts and Evidence of Sexual Harassment Investigation Against Cuomo – Telemundo New York (47)

New York Attorney General Letitia James posted Wednesday the transcripts and evidence corresponding to the independent investigation into the allegations of sexual harassment against the former governor of the state Andrew Cuomo.

The documents include the statement of Brittany Commisso, whose allegations against Cuomo could be related to a misdemeanor complaint filed by the Albany County Sheriff’s Office.

The release of the transcripts and other information will be ongoing and follows the August 3 report on multiple allegations of sexual harassment by Cuomo. The report came after a nearly five-month investigation by independent investigators appointed by New York Attorney General Letitia James and led by Joon H. Kim and Anne L. Clark.

Within days of the report’s release, and increasing calls for Cuomo’s resignation as governor, the democtra left office.

Following the report’s release, several district attorneys requested that the Attorney General refrain from releasing transcripts and other evidence so that their offices could first investigate and determine whether to bring criminal charges against Cuomo.

However, following the filing of a criminal complaint against Cuomo on October 28 in Albany County, the Albany County District Attorney’s Office informed the Attorney General that it would begin providing evidence to Cuomo to comply with the laws of New York State discovery, which stipulates that once someone is charged with a crime, they must be provided with transcripts and other evidence of their case.
