Nvidia RTX 3070 is out October 15 and RTX 3080 reviews delayed to Wednesday – Computer – News

Nvidia announced that the GeForce RTX 3070 will hit the market on October 15. The company is also extending the RTX 3080 Founder’s Edition review embargo by two days to Wednesday, September 16.

An employee of Nvidia reports that the RTX 3070 will go on sale on Thursday, October 15 at 3:00 PM Dutch time. Earlier, the company only announced that this video card would appear on the market ‘in October’. The company does not yet announce when reviews of the RTX 3070 may be published.

The GPU manufacturer also announced that the RTX 3080 Founder’s Edition review embargo has been extended by two days. The first reviews will now appear on Wednesday, September 16, at 3:00 PM Dutch time. On Reddit reports Nvidia’s community manager said the delay is due to covid-19, delayed shipments and ‘other problems’. The company would have received ‘many requests’ from the media to move the embargo, so that reviewers have more time to complete their reviews of the video card. The RTX 3080 Founder’s Edition will still go on sale on September 17. The review embargo for partner RTX 3080 custom graphics cards would expire on the same date. That in is unchanged.
