The global component shortage means that there is still a shortage of graphics cards. That does not stop Nvidia from presenting a brand new RTX 3080 card with 12 gigabytes of memory instead of 10 gigabytes as in the original. Something that was first noticed by The Verge.
The new RTX 3080 card thus has as much memory as the RTX 3080 Ti that Nvidia released at the beginning of last summer.
In addition, the new card has 8960 cuda cores, three percent more than the original model and a wider 384-bit bus that gives the card 20 percent more bandwidth. The card also requires 350 watts instead of 320 watts to use.
So far there is no price information for the new RTX 3080 card.
