Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 The Review, also AMD Radeon benchmark

The year 2023 has just begun and Nvidia is already releasing a new video card in the form of GeForce RTX 4070 Ti. Last year, a new generation of video cards was launched by Luxurious RTX 4090 in RTX 4080after which the AMD competitor is Radeon RX 7900 XT and RX 7900 XTX issued. The next move in this chess game is for the green field, and you can read about what the RTX 4070 Ti has to offer in this review.

The GeForce RTX 4070 Ti is the next addition to the RTX 40 series lineup and what was originally the RTX 4080 12GB it should have been. Nvidia announced the latter card as a higher positioned model, but later realized that it can be confusing to release two different GPUs with different performance levels under the same name. The manufacturer has decided to postpone the release of the previously announced RTX 4080 12GB Cancel. We now see the same video card in the form of the RTX 4070 Ti, with exactly the same specs.

No Founders Edition, but a suggested retail price

What has changed is the suggested retail price. At the presentation of the RTX 4080 12GB, Nvidia was still talking about 899 US dollars; for the RTX 4070 Ti, the manufacturer now sets this identical piece of hardware at $799. In euro pricing for the Benelux, that translates to 910 euros, which otherwise would have been around 1100 euros. That doesn’t make the RTX 4070 Ti a budget video card, and it’s important that this is a starting price. Even the higher-ranked models have steep starting prices, but Nvidia isn’t marketing a Founders Edition of the RTX 4070 Ti. That means consumers can only purchase models from onboard partners, and in that selection only the simplest versions will end up at the listed MSRP. Those who want a more luxurious model with better and quieter cooling and a larger power supply are always paying more.

According to Nvidia, the RTX 4070 Ti is best suited for 1440p gaming with a high refresh rate. The new GeForce model should be particularly interesting for owners of a GTX 1080 Ti or RTX 2080, with which the manufacturer seems to indirectly acknowledge that buyers nowadays get a less high-end video card for the same amount.
