Nurse at the National Hospital of Itauguá says she “did what she deserved”

The nursing graduate, Gabriela Soledad Yaffar Coronel, who has an arrest warrant for the alleged case of omission of assistance to a woman in labor, assured that she assisted the woman.

Yaffar recounted her version of the events in chronological order, saying that the pregnant woman was first admitted to the hospital and she was the one who checked her vital signs, but a doctor sent the patient home.

“I did what belonged, I checked his vital signs and then I called the doctors on duty, a doctor answered me and told me that they were going to come,” he told Telefuturo.

According to the nurse’s account, the victim of negligence returned to the hospital around 5:30 in the morning on Thursday and again, she checked him in the infirmary.

»I did everything that corresponds to me, at no time did I reject him as commented. At that time I went back to notify (the doctors) because that is our function ».

Gabriela maintained throughout the interview that she called the doctors “several times” and that she did not receive an answer, for which she admits that she “ran out”, but in search of a doctor who can assist in labor.
