Nürnberger Allgemeine Versicherung announces Christine Kaaz as new CEO, replacing Peter Meier

Nürnberger Allgemeine Versicherung is getting a new boss. As the company announced on Wednesday, Christine Kaaz will be responsible for the business from July 1, 2024. The 46-year-old will initially replace Peter Meier (61) as spokesperson for the Nürnberger Allgemeine board. From January 1, 2025, she will also succeed him as a board member of Nürnberger Beteiligungs-AG. As already announced, Meier will retire at the end of the year.

Kaaz is currently responsible for the global property and casualty business of the Ergo Group as Chief Underwriting Officer. In this role, she leads, among other things, global portfolio management, product management, actuarial and reinsurance. The economist previously held various management positions in underwriting and operations, including at the US insurers American Modern and Munich Re America. She has 20 years of experience in the insurance industry.

Meier began his professional career at Nürnberger in 1981 with training as an insurance salesman. After studying law, he worked for the company in a managerial position from 1996 and has held various executive and supervisory board positions within the group since 2002. Since 2021, he has been responsible for property-casualty business on the board of Nürnberger Beteiligungs-AG.
