All concern continues
In a nursing ward of internal medicine at the Spaarne Gasthuis, several employees and patients have recently become infected. This happened after contact with a patient who turned out to be infected with corona. The employees are at home with minor complaints.
As a result of the infections, tests were carried out among employees and patients. This happens when they show symptoms associated with corona. The source and contact investigation on the ward was almost completed and the hospital expects to get the situation under control. During the investigation, care workers and visitors to the relevant department will continue to wear personal protective equipment as a precaution. The department remains open.
The Spaarne Gasthuis follows fixed protocols to prevent more employees or patients from being infected. Patients and visitors can continue to come to the hospital safely.
