Number of corona patients in hospitals further increased: 1490 | Inland

Figures from the National Coordination Center for Patients Spreading (LCPS) show that 305 people with Covid-19, the disease caused by the coronavirus, are in intensive care units in the Netherlands on Sunday. That is 17 more than Saturday. In total, there were 26 new recordings of corona patients on the ICs.

There are now 1,185 corona patients in the nursing wards, 74 more than a day earlier. In total, 162 new corona patients were admitted to the nursing wards.

Again many people vaccinated against corona without an appointment

In recent days, relatively many people have had a corona jab at locations where this can be done without an appointment. The umbrella organization of health services GGD GHOR Nederland reports that on Saturday 10,424 people had an injection without an appointment at a free walk-in location, on Friday there were 10,189.

On Wednesday, that number was even higher: that day, about 13,000 people had themselves vaccinated without an appointment. Before that, the peak was 8,000 people in one day. On Thursday there was also a relatively large number of people who had themselves vaccinated without an appointment. Then it was about 9000 people.

Just like Thursday and Wednesday, more people than average made an appointment for a vaccination against the virus on Friday and Saturday. On Friday there were 13,962 new first appointments, Saturday at 13,148. In recent weeks, an average of 10,000 people a day.
