The number of bankruptcies of Dutch companies fell sharply in the last week of June. 31 companies and institutions went bankrupt, which was the lowest number in a full week this year, reports the Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS).
Companies declared bankrupt in week 26 (June 22-28) had one sole proprietorship, the rest being larger companies. The week before, 54 companies fell, including 12 sole proprietorships.
In total, 1,903 companies went bankrupt in the first 26 weeks of this year. That was 23 less in the first half of last year.
This year, Statistics Netherlands keeps track of how many bankruptcies there are on a weekly basis, to map out the effects of the corona crisis.
