Number of Americans Filed for Unemployment Insurance Last Week Rises to 240,000, High in 3 Months | Anue tycoon-US stocks

The U.S. Department of Labor released its latest jobless claims data on Wednesday 23. The adjusted number of initial jobless claims reported last week was 240,000, a 3-month high, an increase of 17,000 from the revised previous value of 223,000, exceeding the market’s 225,000 forecast. While the data revealed signs of a cooling in the labor market, this did not mean a material change and the labor market remained tight.

As of the week of Nov. 19, the adjusted number of initial jobless claims in the United States was 240,000, higher than market expectations of 225,000. The previous revised number was 223,000 and the 4-week moving average was 226,700.

As of the week of Nov. 12, the adjusted number of US continuing jobless claims was reported at 1.551 million, an increase of 48,000 from last week’s revised 1.503 million, exceeding market expectations of 1.517 million, and the movement of 4 weeks average Reported 1.5097 million people.
