Secretary National Campaign Team (TKN) Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka, Nusron Wahid, said they were ready to pit the power of the Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) vote against other candidate pairs. Nusron assesses that NU is currently smart in determining its support.
“Yes, NU is already smart. Isn’t that right? NU people, with me being on the team here, my followers will definitely choose me, right? Habib Luthfi’s followers will all vote, right,” said Nusron at the Golkar Party DPP, West Jakarta , Thursday (9/11/2023).
It is known that in the Change Coalition there are NU figures. He is Muhaimin Iskandar or Cak Imin who is Anies Baswedan’s vice presidential candidate.
Meanwhile, in Ganjar Pranowo’s camp, there are also NU figures. They are Mahfud Md as Ganjar’s vice presidential candidate and Yenny Wahid who is part of the National Winning Team (TPN).
According to Nusron, currently it only depends on how strong the voice of NU cadres is. Moreover, Nusron said that he had served as Ketum PMII and Ketum Ansor.
“We just have to be strong. Are there more or fewer NU cadres who follow Pak Mahfud than me? Are there fewer or more Muhamin followers than me,” he explained.
“What is clear is that I am not arrogant. At NU, the most orderly person is me, sir. I was the General Chair of PMII, I was the Chairman of Ansor, and I was a PBNU administrator,” he continued.
He considered that having a wealth of experience was one of the advantages of the Prabowo-Gibran camp. Because, he said, Cak Imin and Mahfud had never been Chairmen of Ansor or PBNU.
“Muhamin has only been chairman of PMII, never chairman of Ansor and PBNU, let alone Pak Mahfud,” he said.
