NRA sells 20 cars to drunk drivers, 8 are in Burgas – 2024-03-07 14:43:39

The National Revenue Agency is selling 20 cars seized by drivers who were driving the vehicles after using alcohol and drugs. Eight of the cars are sold by the Burgas Territorial Directorate. New auctions are announced on the Revenue Agency’s Sales Portal.

In a few days, notices will be published there for the sale of another 17 cars to drunk or drugged drivers. Seven of these cars will be sold at an auction by the TD of the NRA Burgas.

From the end of last year until March 5, nine cars belonging to drunk drivers changed hands – three were sold at auction, one of which was in Burgas, six, including one from Burgas, were provided for the needs of budget organizations. One of the stolen cars was bought back by its co-owner.

At the end of February, in the five territorial directorates of the revenue agency in Varna, Sofia, Burgas, Veliko Tarnovo and Plovdiv, court documents were filed for a total of 503 cars taken by drunk drivers. 73 of the acts are for TD of NRA Burgas. The first registration date of most of these cars is between 1996 and 2004.

Before being put up for auction, each of these cars goes through two legally defined phases.

In the first one, the car is documented – are there any impoundments imposed on it, coercive administrative measures, its location, condition, etc. Currently, a total of 399 cars submitted to the NRA with a court document are being investigated.

62 of the repossessed cars are in the second phase, where the vehicle is assessed before it is put up for auction. 48 of the repossessed cars are co-owned, which means the state can only sell half of them, so they are offered to the co-owner first.
