In the 97th minute, St.Gallen goalie Lawrence Ati Zigi held the penalty of Guillaume Hoarau at 3-2. Because the keeper broke off the line too early, the VAR intervenes and has the 911 repeated. Lukas Görtler cannot understand that.
With his supposed winning goal to 3: 2 in the 91st minute, Lukas Görtler would have been the match winner in the top game against YB. The referee team around Alain Bieri, however, put a spanner in the works for the German midfielder of FC St. Gallen, which is why Görtler feels forced to stand in front of the camera after the game and to violate the opinion of the referees.
But one thing at a time: The 95th minute is running, the injury time has already expired, but YB has one last attack. In the penalty area Miro Muheim jumps the ball to the hand, the VAR turns on and gives referee Bieri a signal; he should look at the scene again. The referee does that too. And he comes to the verdict: clear handball, penalty.

Bieri: “I had no choice”
The intervention of the video assistant referee in Volketswil also raises questions for St. Gallen coach Peter Zeidler. “Why doesn’t Mr. Bieri look at the scene himself again?” Asks the 57-year-old about the game.
