NOVITEC Ferrari 296 GTB: Unveiling the Stunning Upgrades and Modifications

The Ferrari 296 GTB has taken the hearts of sports car enthusiasts by storm with its innovative hybrid technology. Through the exquisite series of kits, NOVITEC makes this mid-engine sports car even more majestic. NOVITEC body parts are made of exposed structural carbon fiber, giving the 296 GTB an even more thrilling and murderous appearance. In addition, thanks to fine-tuning in the wind tunnel, they have increased the Berlinetta’s aerodynamic downforce at high speeds, further optimizing handling stability.

NOVITEC worked with American rim manufacturer Vossen to develop custom tire/rim combinations in 21-inch and 22-inch diameters for the 296 GTB, making full use of the space in the rim wells. NOVITEC’s coilover suspension or sports springs provide stronger handling.

NOVITEC also offers specialist upgrades for the twin-turbocharged V6 engine in the hybrid system. A high-efficiency turbocharged air intake combined with a NOVITEC performance exhaust system and sport catalytic converter provide the engine with an additional 38 hp increase. The hybrid system therefore generates a total of 638 kW / 868 hp.

Exclusive options complete NOVITEC’s range of Italian sports cars

To give the Ferrari a more thrilling appearance while increasing aerodynamic downforce, NOVITEC designers developed a complex series of components made from exposed-carbon fiber and coated with a high-gloss clear coating. layer. They give the 296 GTB a strong racing appearance and, as wind tunnel testing has shown, they also benefit aerodynamics.

The NOVITEC lip spoiler at the front for the central air intake of the bumper and the ducktail rear spoiler can achieve the best aerodynamic balance between the front and rear axles. Alternatively, the rear can be enhanced with a retractable Exposed-carbon spoiler or a subtle rear lip spoiler. The diffuser and the side sections of the rear panel are also made of this high-tech composite material.

Thrillingly large NOVITEC side skirts create an aerodynamically optimal transition from the front wheel arch to the rear wheel arch. Carbon fiber accents on the exterior mirrors and front quarter glass add an even sportier touch, as do carbon fiber scoops on the engine air intakes.

To make full use of the available space under the wheel arches, Vossen specially designed the new NOVITEC NF11 rims. These high-end rims feature five double spokes and center-lock look rim caps, and are manufactured using state-of-the-art forging technology and CNC machining. They come in a variety of finishes and 72 color options. The combination of wheel sizes 9.5Jx21 at the front and 11.5Jx22 at the rear further emphasizes the wedge-shaped shape of the two-seater sports car. High-performance tires in size 255/30 ZR 21 are used at the front; at the rear they are 335/25 ZR 22, providing excellent grip.

NOVITEC sports springs are tailor-made for these extremely low-profile tires. They lower the Ferrari’s ride height by around 35mm. NOVITEC stainless steel shock suspension has multi-stage adjustable ride height and damping rate. Different versions of this option are available for all 296 GTB models with or without the Fiorano package. Moreover, it also has functions that further optimize the coupe’s daily practicality.

The hydraulic NOVITEC front axle lift system raises the front end by approximately 40 mm at the push of a button in the cockpit. This makes driving on underground parking ramps or speed bumps much easier. The front end is lowered to its original position when the switch is flicked again, or automatically when a speed of 80 km/h is reached.

NOVITEC combines aerodynamic and suspension upgrades with more power. To this end, engine specialists developed a highly efficient, custom-made turbine intake and exhaust system with optimized airflow. It is made from stainless steel or INCONEL, a high-tech alloy also used in Formula One racing cars. In addition, all elements of the NOVITEC exhaust system are fully thermally insulated to optimize the control of intake air temperature.

This effect can be further amplified in the 999 solid gold-plated INCONEL version, which is optionally equipped with an actively controlled butterfly valve integrated in the exhaust. They allow a choice between a sporty exhaust note and a sound in the cockpit reminiscent of a racing car. The styling of the NOVITEC exhaust system features two 102 mm tailpipes in various shapes, including elegant 999 solid gold plating, which are harmoniously integrated into the rear end via precisely fitted mesh inserts.

The finishing touch in the exhaust side modification is the 100-unit metal catalytic converter. At the highest trim level, these tuning upgrades result in an increase in peak power of 28 kW / 38 hp. The MGU-K electric drive unit located behind the V6 mid-engine remains unchanged. NOVITEC frames both power units with exposed carbon fiber engine bay panels. The system output of this hybrid sports car reaches a maximum horsepower of 638 kW / 868 hp, which can provide more powerful power performance on the road.
