After Novak Djokovic’s eighth Australian Open triumph, father Srdjan accounts with the Melbourne audience and speaks of disrespect. Rafael Nadal also gets his fat off.
Eighth title at the Australian Open, back in the world rankings and only three major titles behind record holder Federer – Novak Djokovic has had an excellent start to the new season. In Melbourne, he is unbeatable in his eighth final even though he has been struggling against Dominic Thiem for a long time.
After the defending champion clearly loses the second and third set, he has to be groomed in the dressing room before the fourth round. Father Srdjan Djokovic, who is watching the TV, almost drives him to despair: “I didn’t even watch it, I drove through the city for an hour and a half and came back in the middle of the fourth sentence,” he says in an interview with the Serbian « Telegraf »and emphasizes that he should watch fewer live games in the future, as the stress is hardly bearable.
