The 20-time Grand Slam winner had received a medical exemption from the state of Victoria to participate in the first Grand Slam tournament of the year, but that was not enough at border control to be allowed into Australia.
Djokovic has been in a detention hotel in Melbourne for 2 days. On Monday, his lawyers will try to get the star player at the start of the Australian Open in a decisive hearing.
