“Novak Djokovic Eliminated by Hoger Rune at ATP Tour in Rome”

This is the big surprise of the day at the tennis tournament in Rome, Italy. The Serbian Novak Djokovic, world number 1, was knocked out by the Danish Hoger Rune, 7th in the world.

After the elimination of Carlos Alcaraz on Monday, Novak Djokovic, defending champion in Rome, was however the big favorite of the tournament.

But it was a solid Hoger Rune who overcame Djokovic this Wednesday afternoon in 3 sets: 6/2, 4/6, 6/2. Novak Djokovic will now turn to Roland Garros, the Parisian Grand Slam starting in ten days.

Note that this is the first time since 2004 that there will be neither Rafael Nadal nor Novak Djokovic in the Rome final.
