Not because it’s closed, customers are sad to hear news from this legendary noodle outlet

Even though they are already legendary, several legendary culinary businesses are also struggling to maintain their existence amid increasingly fierce competition. If not, many culinary businesses eventually decide to stop for various reasons.

Even so, a legendary culinary business like this usually has its loyal customers. If bad news arrives, their loyal customers will be sad. Such is the sadness felt by the customers of this legendary Hokkien noodle shop in Singapore.

The shop, called Geylang Lorong 29 Charcoal Fried Hokkien Mee Alex, has been loved by Singaporeans for 20 years, 8days.sg (11/11) reported.

The stall offers Chinese dishes in the form of Hokkien noodles which are mixed with special spices and added with different choices of seasonings. This noodle shop was originally founded by a man named Alex See.

But over time, due to Alex’s deteriorating health, finally in 2016 this man handed over the business to his daughter. Even so, the noodle vendor who is more familiarly referred to as Uncle Alex is still actively maintaining and even cooking at his stall.

Unfortunately, it wasn’t long ago that Uncle Alex made many of his customers sad and disappointed. The reason is that several food groups on Facebook are reporting bad news shop those noodles. Not because the shop went bankrupt or closed forever, but this news came because of Uncle Alex’s condition.

Uploading reveals that Uncle Alex died peacefully. The reason is because the 72-year-old man has struggled with his declining health in recent years.

“He died peacefully. He’s already in a better place,” said Qin Sheng as Uncle Alex’s son-in-law.

This news certainly makes many loyal customers and new customers sad and disappointed. Because some of them had already planned to come to the shop and taste Alex’s noodles first hand.

Launching Asia One (11/11), several netizens expressed their condolences and expressed their feelings. As this netizen commented, “It’s very sad to hear the news of Alex’s passing, we had planned to come there when we returned to Singapore after 4 years. Hope to meet again after the mourning period.”

While another loyal customer apologized for not being able to pay homage in person.

“I am very sorry for your loss, our condolences to your family. We have truly lost a great seller of Hokkien noodles. I am sorry you were unable to come to the tribute,” he concluded.

This Hokkien noodle shop has been established by Alex since 2000s. Their noodle dishes are known to be delicious as they still use charcoal to fry their specialty noodles. Besides noodles, this shop also offers pork satay menu.

Even though Alex is gone, customers need not worry why shop it can still work safely. Uncle Alex has entrusted this stall to the right person, his daughter.
