Not all spoilers from The Last of Us Part II are true

Be careful, if you believe what you see too much, we might be surprised. This is what sums up the thought of Niel Druckmann who spoke on The Last of Us 2.

It can be said without exaggerating too much, the course of The Last of Us Part II until our PS4, will have been most chaotic. Between the delay in its exit following the COVID-19 crisis and the many leaks published on the script after hackers managed to gain access to Nauthy Dog’s servers, nothing was easy.

However, its director Niel Druckmann warns us, everything we have read, does not necessarily reflect reality. This is what he confided to our colleagues on the site Eurogamer, in a recent interview. The man has also justified his silence since the beginning of this case for an extremely simple reason:

I haven’t said anything since the first rumors came out, because it would be like emptying the game of its substance, by saying what’s going on, we’re saying what’s going on.

Then he adds that even if the leaks can be huge, it doesn’t necessarily taint the gaming experience, citing examples from Uncharted 4 and the first The Last of Us:

Despite all the rumors of the time, it didn’t take anything away in the end, because nothing compares to playing it.

Finally he also added a few words on the evolution of Ellie between these 2 episodes:

We went on a trip with Ellie, and Ellie is what she is. We paused the basics of his character in the previous installment. We will continue to move forward. She is now 19 years old. How can we explore all the facets of what it’s like to be 19? You think you are invincible. You think you know what is right and what is wrong in the world. You are sexually attracted to people. These are all things we want to explore for this character, this is how we conceive of an honest narrative.

Will this second part surprise us? Answer on June 19.
