Today’s business.

Six Boeing 737 Max aircraft that were previously leased by Flyr are now in operation under Norwegian’s umbrella. The planes are leased for eleven years at a fixed price and on the same terms as Flyr had.

– We got these planes on very, very attractive terms, and do not have to pay for maintenance before the planes go to the workshop, says Norwegian CEO Geir Karlsen to the newspaper.

During the estate processing of the Flyr bankruptcy in the Oslo District Court on Thursday, it also emerged that Norwegian has picked up spare parts and equipment at Oslo Airport for around NOK 5 million, according to the trustee.

In addition, more than 100 pilots and cabin crew have so far donned Norwegian uniforms. 40 cabin crew were on a course last week, and 40 new ones this week. Karlsen states that they received the first inquiries about vacancies already when Flyr made layoffs last autumn.

SAS has also welcomed former Flyr employees. The airline states that 72 former Flyr cabin crew have so far been offered a job at SAS.
