North Rhine-Westphalia: Four “bandidos” sentenced to several years in prison

After a deadly dispute in Gelsenkirchen in North Rhine-Westphalia, four members of the Bandidos motorcycle club were sentenced to prison terms between six and a half and ten years. That reports the news agency dpa.

According to the verdict, the accused attacked on the night of October 13, 2018 a member of the freeway riders on the open road and stabbed it. One of the accused had stood before the Essen jury court in the trial, but denied an intention to kill. The judgments are for bodily harm resulting in death.

The 63-year-old victim had celebrated with clubmates in Gelsenkirchen and set off on foot around midnight. He is said to have been arrested and killed by the accused.

Investigators evaluated mobile data

One of the accused had given Bandido’s aggressiveness in the intoxication of drugs as the reason for the fatal attack. “I was intoxicated with the idea of simply making an announcement to any person from the Freeway Riders,” he had had his defense attorney explained in the process, according to the dpa. In the end, however, he picked up a knife in the scramble.

The investigators had previously tracked down the 24 to 27 year old perpetrators from Bochum, Herne, Dortmund and Essen by evaluating a cell phone cell at the scene.
