Exceptions for employees of health facilities
There are exceptions to the benefit for employees of health facilities. They are not allowed to work until they can submit a negative test result.
The isolation obligation in NRW currently applies up to ten days after the first symptoms appear. In order to end the isolation early, the “free test”, i.e. a negative test with a corresponding certificate, is currently still required from the fifth day at the earliest.
Laumann considers isolation ‘necessary’
“I still think it is necessary to isolate infected people right nowLaumann explained the decision for the new rules, which will come into force next week. Isolation will help prevent infections and ease the burden on the healthcare system.
Just last week, Laumann relaxed the isolation requirement “not justifiable” rejected. In the meantime, however, more and more federal states have abolished this obligation to stay at home: this is already the case in Bavaria, Baden-Württemberg and Schleswig-Holstein. Hesse followed suit on Wednesday and from Saturday there will no longer be an obligation to self-isolate even in Rhineland-Palatinate.
