Information about the North American Car of the Year 2023 finalists has appeared in the media. Only three applicants remain in each of the three NACTOY 2023 categories.
A jury of 50 journalists from major automotive publications in the US and Canada has sifted through nine nominees in three categories, vying for the best name in the passenger car segment, SUV and crossover category, and pickup truck.
In the best passenger car category, Honda Accord, Ioniq 6 and Toyota Prius/Prius Prime compete for victory, in the best SUV and crossover category, the Genesis GV70 Electrified, Kia EV9 and Volvo EX30 will compete, while in the pickup segment, the Chevrolet Colorado and Silverado EV or their competitor can win – Ford F-Series Super Duty.
The jury will traditionally announce the winners of the competition in Detroit on January 4.
NACTOY’s January 2023 winners were the Acura Integra in the passenger car category, the KIA EV6 Utility Vehicle won the SUV and crossover category, and the battery-powered Ford F-150 Lightning was recognized as the best pickup truck.
