Norovirus has been found in nine patients at the Flevo Hospital. Therefore, no new patients are admitted to the Cardiology department. They are temporarily nursed in other departments, the hospital reports.
The Flevo Hospital has taken a number of measures to prevent further spread of the norovirus. Patients infected with the norovirus are cared for in separate rooms. Visitors must wash their hands immediately after their visit and leave the hospital.
Hospital employees who have complaints must stay at home and can only return to work if they have been free of complaints for 24 hours.
The norovirus is very contageous and mainly causes stomach and intestinal complaints. Patients with reduced resistance may suffer from this.
