The construction of the Russia-Germany gas pipeline Nord Stream 2 could be completed in the coming days. Such information was expressed in an interview with the Russian media by one of the project leaders – Austrian Reiner Zelle.
Zelle pointed out that the construction works could be completed already this week, and the supply of Russian natural gas to Europe could start already this year. The project implementers also managed to significantly reduce costs and spent less than the planned 950 million euros.
Nord Stream 2 has a capacity of 55 billion cubic meters of gas per year, and the project has caused serious debate around the world. Several Eastern European countries, including Poland, spoke out against it. However, the United States and other Western countries decided not to obstruct its completion.
